Academic Credits in Manuel Antonio , Costa Rica

Location

Costa Rica is a peaceful country in Central America and has no army. The territory is 51,000 square kilometers (20,000 square miles). 33% of the land is devoted to national parks or reserves. In a country with a population of three and a half million people, Costa Rica’s literacy rate is 95 percent. This is among the highest in the developing world. The country has an incredible variety of climates, vegetation, wildlife and topography. The climate of San José is pleasing to most people, ranging from 22 - 32° C (72 - 90°F).  Visitors can enjoy many activities such as hiking in rain forests and mountains, going to the Caribbean or the Pacific beaches, visiting active volcanoes, bathing in hot springs, white water rafting, cruising to islands, canopying, diving and much more.

Manuel Antonio Beach

This park includes one of the best beaches on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast for swimming and snorkeling. The park is also wonderful for short walks or full-day hikes. This park is a combination of rain forest, beautiful white sand beaches abounding in flora and fauna, and great views. You can see howler, squirrel, and white-faced monkeys; two-toed sloths, coatimundis, raccoons, iguanas, over 350 species of birds and others. In Manuel Antonio, the mountains meet the ocean. It is paradise!

"What I like about COSI is the attention that the entire staff demonstrates with regard to all aspects of the study abroad experience. The classes, housing and tour arrangements could not be any better. Since I take students from the United States to Costa Rica every year, I had to find a well established institute with reliable personnel. After interviewing directors from various schools as well as visiting their premises, I had no difficulty choosing COSI. Their staff will do everything possible to help the student master the Spanish language in a very friendly environment. They are also there to help in any situation that may arise. My students and I are thoroughly satisfied."

Camille Weir, USA

COSI is an outstanding school for anyone with the desire of learn or improve their Spanish. Teachers are excellent, patient, and motivating. The staff was always willing to assist in any way possible. COSI is a fantastic, friendly and reliable school. I hope to return one day soon “

Shockey Family , USA

“We are very glad that we chose COSI. The entire staff is professional and organized. Our teachers at COSI were excellent! The COSI school in Manuel Antonio is a facility with an amazing view of the Pacific, and the fresh fruits and coffee at break times are always delicious. Our 4 weeks at COSI was a most worthwhile vacation. ¡Perfecto!”

Vanessa Chester, New Zealand

“During my 8 weeks studying at COSI, I found the teachers to be dedicated and very capable. As the class sizes are kept small, I was able to focus on what I needed to learn and I greatly increased my speaking ability. I met students from all over the world and enjoyed the culture of Costa Rica. I highly recommend COSI to anyone.”

Simona Giselbrecht, Switzerland

“I really had a great time in Costa Rica!! The experience I made is unforgettable, everybody at COSI and in the host family are very friendly, helpful and open-minded. I highly recommend COSI!!”

Dirk Wasser, The Netherlands

“I went to Costa Rica without any knowledge of Spanish. However, I felt at home and soon I was able to communicate with Costa Ricans.
I have not only learned Spanish now, but also I have made a lot of friends with both the other students as well as the teachers. If you attend COSI, I am sure you will have the time of your life!”

Karen Dockery, USA

“When I arrived in Costa Rica, I was somewhat anxious because I did not know anyone and my Spanish was basic. By the time I left (2 months later), I was close to fluent in Spanish and had met many new friends from several different countries. I also felt welcomed into the "family" of COSI which includes it's teachers, staff, students, etc. All of the connections I made in Costa Rica have had a lasting impact even to this day.”
